Gunung Mulu National Park is Sarawak’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is famous for it’s caves but has a lot more to offer. There is a lot of exploring to do here with walks and treks through stunning primary rainforest.

This short adventure introduces you to the highlights of this famous national park. Visit all 4 show caves and dare to join a walk along the 480m long canopy walk way. You will also have the opportunity to witness the evening mass exodus of millions of bats.

Your itinerary

Day 1

Fly over the impressive Gunung Mulu National Park while descending. Your adventure begins upon arrival into this small airport from where you will be transferred to your accommodation.

Depending on your arrival time you will have time to familiarise yourself with the park facilities before an afternoon of Deer Cave, the world’s largest cave passage. This is followed by a visit of Lang Cave before heading to the bat’s observatory area where you will wait for the millions of bats to make their evening exodus.

Day 2

Today you will cruise upstream and start with a visit of Wind Cave followed by a walk through the Clearwater Cave which is South East Asia’s longest cave. It can get hot and sticky and you will enjoy a dip in the cold water during a picnic Lunch at the exit of the cave.

Day 3

During your last full day today you will join a walking tour along one of the longest canopy walks in the world. This is on join in basis and times vary.

The rest of the day is at your own leisure and in the evening join a local guide for a night walk and hear the rainforest come to life.

Day 4

Your Mulu adventure finishes today with a transfer to the airport.

There are activities for all ages at this incredibly beautiful national park. The visits to the show caves are safe and easy. For the more daring travellers adventure caving can be arranged.
