Nestled in between the two Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak lies the Sultanate of Brunei. It’s a gas and oil rich country leaving about 70% of its area still covered by pristine forest. It is consistently in the top 10 countries with the world’s cleanest air.
It’s an interesting place well worth a visit. The capital is the modern city of Bandar Seri Begawan. Here you will find the impressive Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque as well as the world’s biggest water village.
The biggest treasure of this tiny country however is Temburong National Park. It lies in an area of pristine rainforest and only a small part is accessible to tourists leaving the remainder untouched.
